CareXpress Urgent Care Treats The Flu
Every year influenza (flu) statistics are released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health to indicate that society is still greatly impacted by the illness. Hundreds of people are hospitalized and several people have died from the infection. Dr. Robert Atmar (professor and interim chief of the section of infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas) has predicted that the 2017-2018 flu season could be “severe”. At CareXpress urgent care we try to prevent the flu with immunizations, but we can also help with treatments, too.
Here are some symptoms that are common signs you have the flu:
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Body aches
CareXpress Urgent Care has already seen the flow of patient visits increasing due to the flu! Many have tested positive for the flu in just the last few weeks. It can happen any time of the year, but the fall and winter months tend to be the worst. As always, the best way to avoid all of this is to be proactive in getting your flu shots. No one wants to be part of the statistics of the 2017-2018 flu season! Don’t wait for the attack of the flu season to get to you. Protect you and your family members.
Not all cases of the flu are severe, but sometimes it can be difficult to know how bad it really is for you. If you’re not certain about the severity of your illness, please feel free to come in at any of our urgent care locations to get tested. We say it is always better to be safe, rather than be sorry!
