Receive Quicker Urgent Care With Online Check-in

CareXpress Urgent Care Offers Online Check-In At All Locations

It’s summer and your time is a precious thing not to be wasted, right? The last thing anyone wants to do on their summer break is be sick and have to visit the doctor’s office, especially if the visit lasts longer than necessary due to exhausting wait times in the lobby. In most clinics or doctor’s offices you show up just to be told to wait, then get called back to wait and sometimes, you have to wait some more. Guess what? At CareXpress Urgent Care, we totally understand that you want to get in and out as quickly as possible!

That’s why CareXpress doesn’t just offer urgent care services, we also take it a step further and allow you to check-in online. This reserves you a spot in line before you’ve ever even physically arrived. What’s better is that our online system shows you, before you click the “check-in” button, exactly what the current wait time is for each urgent care location.

This gives patients more control over when to they would like to be seen and possibly even which location to visit based on lowest wait time. Of course, on extremely busy days there may be a slight wait in the lobby, but in most cases our urgent care is able to get patients in and out in way less than one hour. By utilizing the online check-in feature on our website we’re often able to keep wait times down as low as 10 minutes or less! We’re thrilled to have read plenty of positive reviews from our patients praising us for this wonderful feature and we hope to make you the next happy patient.

CareXpress Urgent Care’s Safety Tips For Spring Break: Part 1

Enjoy Your Break Without A Trip To An Urgent Care

Spring Break- urgent care

At, CareXpress Urgent Care, we know that many students in the Amarillo, Texas area are ready to enjoy their freedom from school thanks to spring break. We also believe that some people out there may (even if unintentionally) be planning something unsafe. While we would be honored to treat your family at our urgent care facility if need be, we would rather you put safety first. Today, in part one of this series, we will provide you with a few spring break safety tips so that you can enjoy your break without a trip to an urgent care.

Here are a few things you can do to maintain the safety of you and others this coming spring break (March 13th-17th):

1.) Drive Extra Careful: No matter where you go this spring break, you should focus on driving safely. There are bound to be children outside playing and this means you should keep a watchful eye out, because not all children will stick to the safety rules like staying out of the street or remembering to look both ways before crossing the street.

2.) Wear Plenty Of Sunscreen: This is something many people neglect to do, because the springtime weather doesn’t make them believe they will get a sunburn. It may be only March, but people can get a sunburn at any time of the year. So if you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors, don’t forget to slap on that sunscreen to yourself and your kids!

3.) Devise A Home Safety Plan: Some parents may be leaving their older children at home alone during this spring break, because they still have to work. If this is the case for your family, it may be a good idea to go over your home safety rules like the fire escape routes, when and how to call 911, and tell them about stranger danger.

Our urgent care team is happy to bring you safety tips so that you can avoid a costly visit to the urgent care. We hope that you will drive safely, wear sunscreen, and practice home safety this spring break. Have fun, everyone!

Urgent Care News: Flu Season Has Arrived

Urgent Care Topic: Amarillo, Texas Flu Cases Increasing

Earlier in the year, influenza (the flu) experts predicted that the flu season would arrive late to the Amarillo, Texas area as very few cases had been reported, but that has changed. According to the Department of Pediatrics at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amarillo sees the flu hit around February, but the last few years the peak has arrived in December or January. CareXpress Urgent Care has already treated several cases of the flu and we’re here to let you know that we can help as the flu has arrived!

People often mistake the nicer winter weather as a sign that the flu or other illnesses aren’t something to be worried about, but people who have not received their flu shots are at risk. Think about touching a germ filled door knob, shaking hands with someone who is sick, or spreading germs from one surface to the next.

The top recommendation from our urgent care for flu season would be to keep on eye on your immune system. If you notice any of these flu symptoms, seek treatment:

  • Severe aches in the muscles and joints
  • Pain and tiredness around your eyes
  • Weakness or extreme fatigue
  • Warm, flushed skin and red, watery eyes
  • A headache
  • A dry cough
  • A sore throat and runny nose

Secondly, if you haven’t received a flu shot come on in! Our urgent care nurses would be happy to help you protect yourself and others. Lastly, the best thing you can do other than prevention is to keep your hands washed thoroughly, cover your sneezes and coughs, and stay home if you do get sick.

If you need a flu shot or treatment for the flu, please feel free to visit CareXpress Urgent Care.
