CareXpress Urgent Care with some tips to help beat holiday stress
The Holidays are here and that means alot of good things. However, it also mean alot of added stress. Getting a big dinner cooked, getting gifts ordered and wrapped, making sure the house is clean and presentable, the holidays can really stress some of us out. Stress can lead to a weakened immune system, CareXpress Urgent Care has a few tips to help you beat the holiday stress and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year.
Smell some Citrus?: Some recent studies have suggested that smelling citrus may help deal with holiday depression. The study suggests that certain citrus fragrances boost feelings of well-being and help alleviate stress. For some all-day relief, dab some citrus essential oil on a handkerchief and carry it with you throughout the day. Alternatively, pack an orange for lunch and enjoy a sweet, tangy snack while sniffing the amazing scent. Eating oranges of course, contain vitamin C which will also help boost your immune system.
Take a walk…or a hike: When managing stress, it’s important to be able to remove yourself from the source of the stress. A half-hour walk everyday, preferably outside, can have a tranquilizing effect on the brain. A hike every once in awhile can also help relieve stress. Again, in addition, the exercise will also help to relieve stress through physical exercise.
Prioritize: Prioritize you checklist and try to stick to it as best you can. Prioritize your shopping, workouts, etc. Don’t try to overdue it on the holiday cheer either. If you feel yourself getting drained and stressed, try to cut back on what you do. The holidays won’t be any fun if you get sick!
